Puerto Montt and it's amazing fish market

Another rainy day in Southern Chile and I am off to see the Angelmo fish markets about a 45 minute walk from my hotel. The first part of the markets is a long street where you can but all sorts of Chilean handcrafts. (a heavy duty woollen jumper for about $30 AUD!). The second part is where the boats come in to unload their catch of the day. Here you will find the fish market selling all types of weird and wonderful things. I had no idea what some of the stuff was, and the place was frantic.
At the markets there are stacks of tiny restaurants that only seat about 10 people. The person that takes your order is also the cook, but it was early morning so I gave this a miss. It was hard to miss the giant sea lions that were lining the shore waiting for scraps. These were much more aggressive than the ones in Valadivia. Often fighting amongst themselves and it was fun to watch the local dogs try to scare them off - with no success. This is a must visit site in town (thank goodness as there is not much else!!)
