On Thursday I made the 2 1/2 hour drive to Nottingham to catch up with Nick Swann for lunch at the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem - which happens to be the oldest inn in England. The pub has been trading since 1189 and is carved into the rock below Nottingham Castle and famously served the crusaders on their way to Jerusalem. After a couple of excellent local pints and a cheese and beef pie, I made my way back to Manchester and took the detour through the Peak District National Park. It was an incredible drive with stunning views and amazing scenery. I wish I had more time to explore this area.

Friday took the train to London, and spending the next few days with family before heading to Ireland on Monday.
